Professional Talent and Skills needed to Develop South Eastern Ghana

GDI, SEGDEV Foundation and GhanaCiti Investors Group need professionals from all fields, technical, scientific, planning, medical, social, educational etc. to help in the development of South Eastern Ghana. We anticipate opportunities ranging from highly paid long-term jobs to short-term volunteer opportunities. Professionals retiring could also offer their services in this regard. We seek professionals world wide.

If you are a professional in any such field or a related field then you should submit your CV or resume to be added to the database of professionals. Your information and the database will be kept strictly CONFIDENTIAL. We will send you a letter stating this clearly after Your information will only be submitted to prospective employers with prior signed permission from you.

The database is managed by 3 representatives nominated from the Executive Board of GDI, the SEGDEV Foundation, and GhanaCiti Investors Group. In the future all who have submitted their information to the database will constitute the electorate to vote annually for the group of 3 managers.

If you are a professional in any such field or a related field and are interested please do 2 things:

(1) Fill in our contact form on our "Contact Us" page completely since we may need to contact you quickly and (a) indicate in the Comments field that you are a professional submitting your resume or CV to be added to the talent and skills database; (b) Indicate the earliest that you could be available to work when you are needed.

Volunteers needed for GDI and SEGDEV Foundation projects

Volunteers needed in Health

We need volunteers to go with us to Ghana in October every year. They will assist at our Annual Health Screening Fairs in Abokobi, La, Osu, Mangotsonya, and Miotsonya in the middle of October. We need doctors, nurses, other clinical and nutrition workers, computer data entry, photographers, public relations folks etc.. Everyone can help.

Partners and Volunteers needed in Education

First we need partners to work with us on our new Khan Academy project. Our project objectives are to:

(1) Acquire net-book and laptop computers for children in our project who don't have any. In Ghana this means 50 net-book computers to be used by 2 classes of 25 students at a time. Computers are stored in secure locked cabinets in a locked office, to be wheeled into classrooms when needed.

(2) Provide internet access to the children if they don't have it yet. by obtaining donated access time (in Ghana they call it data credit time) from cell phone and cable TV companies.

(3) Train a number of coaches (with some content knowledge) both outside and inside Ghana on how to guide our learning community through instances when they get stuck as they learn through the Khan Academy.

We also need volunteers to work with teachers in our existing Mangotsonya and Miotsonya Pre-school programs at any time of the year. Volunteers are needed who can organize school administration, parent involvement activities, interact with town and village elders, and build temporary school buildings. Volunteers will work with our partners "The Hope Foundation" (an NGO) staff in Ghana.

Investors Wanted

Yes, investors are wanted for investment in financial instruments and sustainable projects in the urban areas of Ghana. Interest rates on short-term Ghana Treasury Bills are more than 12% currently. Some business projects in Accra and Takoradi have been recently identified as potentially yielding more than 47% returns. With the possible exception of the Canadian Oil Sands, you cannot get even half of this anywhere in North America.

If interested join the GhanaCiti Investors Group. This is an investment club based in the U.S. so you get to control your own investment. Investment education and seminars are the main services offered. They don't advertise so thjis may be your only chance to hear about and join this group.
